Tammy has been a standout employee since she joined our team, and we couldn’t be happier to award her with our monthly Safety Champion Bonus. We met with Tammy yesterday to interview her about her safety leadership at work.

Meet Tammy!

First off, tell me a little bit about your job – what are your day to day responsibilities?
“I build water meter boxes putting nuts and bolts in them. I also use a press machine to press gaskets into the meter boxes.”

How do you work safe or keep your coworkers safe?
“I love all of it! The work is busy and I love it!”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
“I always make sure to let my coworkers know to be careful around any machines that are being used. I make sure to wear my proper PPE at all times.”

Any words of wisdom for other teammates trying to be as successful as you’ve been?
“Safety 1st Always!!”

Caroline has worked with Wellborn Cabinets since September and has gotten nothing but great performance evaluations from her supervisor, who says she has become an integral part of our Housekeeping team and sets an excellent example of following our safety rules.

“I always make sure that everything is super clean… especially the rest rooms.”

How do you work safe or keep your coworkers safe?
“When I help in the kitchen, I always wear my gloves and hairnet. And I always make sure everything is cleaned & sanitized.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
”The people… they are GREAT and easy to work with.”

Any words of wisdom for other teammates trying to be as successful as you’ve been?
”I tell people all the time to treat others the way you would want to be treated.”

This month, we’re excited to celebrate Adam for his achievements in safety and team leadership at International Automotive Components. We’re proud to announce he’s this month’s Safety Champion Bonus winner. Get to know Adam!

First off, tell me a little bit about your job – what are your day to day responsibilities?

“My main thing is to get orders out on time, and correctly. So sometimes that’s hard, because we don’t have the product at the time, then we have to expedite it when it does come. Make sure the customer is satisfied… make sure everything is on time, get the correct products out.”

How do you work safe or keep your coworkers safe?
“Nothing really, just remind them, you know… well, we drive forklifts, so make sure they’re honking their horns at the proper time, have their lights on, make sure everything works on their forklift.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
”Oh, working with all the people. They’re awesome. I haven’t had any bad interactions with anybody.”

Any words of wisdom for other teammates trying to be as successful as you’ve been?
”Just keep pushing forward, keep following all policies, procedures, safety… and you’ll do well for yourself. People will notice you.”

“I make sure that everyone is watching what they are doing, taking care of themselves and wearing their PPE.”

”I really love setting up machines!”

”SIMPLE. Just be safe!”

”Leaving work feeling accomplished that I did my job!”

Meet Erick Sanchez! This March, we dedicate our Safety Champion Award to Erick, our teammate at BR Williams. 

We’re proud to have Erick on our team. He’s a great example of a teammate who truly cares, about doing an excellent job, about making it a great friendly environment, and about taking the time to work safely and prevent accidents. Meet Erick in our Safety Spotlight!

First off, tell me a little bit about your job – what are your day to day responsibilities?

“I am a forklift driver. I help replenish each line with materials making sure to stay ahead of what the machines are producing.”

How do you work safe or keep your coworkers safe?
“We try to remind each other about blowing the horn, looking out for people, making sure that we give the right of way, always have your belt on and be safe.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
“Just the atmosphere that I have with the coworkers, it’s a family atmosphere.”

Any words of wisdom for other teammates trying to be as successful as you’ve been?
“Own the job. Make it personal. I try to kind of give them what I expect from somebody giving me. So you know, be on time, do your job, go home when they tell you to go home. And do the little extra that you need to so you can stand out.”
